The Office of Affordable Housing Programs (OAHP) announces an upcoming HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) Rental Compliance two-part webinar. This session will focus on the role of the Participating Jurisdictions (PJs) and property managers during the HOME affordability period. The training will review the HOME requirements for affordability periods, maintaining the mix of HOME units, income recertification and rent adjustments, along with topics such as compliance with the Student Rule and Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). The training will be offered in (2) two-hour sessions; register for both Part 1 and Part 2.
Training Objectives
This training will:
- Describe the HOME rental affordability period requirements
- Provide instruction on the required actions by both the PJ and the owner/property manager
- Discuss the Student Rule and VAWA
Who Should Attend?
This webinar is relevant for PJ staff overseeing rental housing during the affordability period and owners and property managers of HOME rental projects. This would include HOME staff, non-profit and Community Housing Development Organizations (CHDOs), and HOME property managers.

This course will not cover the basics of HOME eligibility and actions required by the PJ prior to committing HOME funds to a rental project. To learn more, participants are encouraged to review the Building HOME session posted on the HUD Exchange.
