I missed you the last couple of weeks but I've returned! I'm looking forward to dancing with you in two days. For your interest, the dances that I was taught are below.
I will bring a list of dances this Thursday so that I can find out what dances you want to have included in our spring party which is next week! You can look at the list now at this link. To access videos and dance directions for the dances go to our website: https://surreyfolkdance.org/dances/.
Extra events are optional and are listed here for your information. If a couple of hours of dancing once a week on Thursdays is as much as you want or can manage, that is fine!
- Demo at Fleetwood Villa, 16028 83rd Ave, on Friday, June 8, 2:30-3:30pm. Meet there at 1pm. We need more dancers for this event. If you are available, come help us dance - it is lots of fun - your effort will be appreciated.
- June 14, 2018, 7-10pm: Final dance session of the season and a party! Bring finger-food to share and wear an ethnic costume if you like. We dance to a prepared playlist created from your requests.
- Display table at Surrey Fest Downtown, Holland Park, 13428 Old Yale Rd, on Saturday, June 16, 11am - 4pm. Setup at 10am. Let me know if you are available to help.
- Tuesdays, June 19 to August 21, 7 to 9:30, Vancouver dancers lead folk dancing in Ceperley Meadow, Stanley Park. Free and fun. Ceperley Meadow is past the tennis courts, across from the Pitch and Putt, and near Second Beach. Request dancing is from 7-7:30, teaching is from 7:30-9:30. Dancing is open to everyone, all ages, all skill levels. No previous experience necessary. See VIFD website here.
- Friday, June 29, 1-2pm: Chicken barbecue for Fleetwood Seniors at the Fleetwood Community Centre, 15996 - 84 Ave. Dance demonstration, with some participatory dances, to celebrate Canada Day, July 1. Let me know if you are available to help.
- SIFD Summer BBQ on Saturday, July 28, 3pm-10pm, at Don's farm, 25133 0 Ave, Aldergrove. Folk Voice Band of Seattle will play live music for us! Walk around the farm, dancing, then pot-luck dinner/BBQ, followed by more dancing!

Burnaby Folk Dance Party
Tuesday, June 5, 7-10pm
Help BIFD dancers end the season with a party. Bring finger-friendly snacks to share and dress in ethnic costume if you like. Arrive early to learn some basic steps from 6:30 to 7pm. Drop-in: $5.
