New Moon Social - Wednesday, June 13 at The View On Lonsdale, 2121 Lonsdale Avenue. Click for tickets: www.bit.ly/newmoonsocial

The New Moon Social is an event that celebrates our robust and vibrant school community by creating a warm and inviting space to eat, drink, connect and give joyously amongst friends new and old. With the 100th anniversary of Waldorf Education in 2019 and our school's 50th anniversary in 2020, we have plenty to celebrate! You can expect outstanding catering generously donated by ECC parents, Alison and Bill McCaig, owners of Nicli Antica Pizzeria in Gastown (soon to be in Edgemont Village as well!), a beautiful venue with an earthy bohemian theme and an inviting reception designed for socialising. Current parents, alumni and alumni parents, faculty, staff and friends are all welcome to join the celebration. Proceeds raised from the New Moon Social will directly support the School Expansion Group, which is a team of parent volunteers, staff, and faculty that are working to realize our community's long-held vision of building a new school that houses all students. Our fundraising goal for this event is $50,000 and gifts will be graciously accepted in any amount. Do note that this is an adults-only event as there will be a cash bar on site.

Please join us as we raise a glass to our charming school and wonderful community! Tickets are still available here: www.bit.ly/newmoonsocial

High School Graduation - Celebrate our Graduating Class of 2018 by attending their Graduation on Saturday, June 16 at 1:00 pm at Highlands United Church. Together we've raised over $8,000 - our best year yet! Parent Council will put the funds to good use on improvements for our students.

New or revised gift card orders are now closed until September, but SPUD's programs run all year long and are a great way to keep supporting the school with fresh, local produce delivered right to your door. Please see linked flyer for details.

HOT LUNCH

I'll wrap up by saying thank you to everyone who supported the Hot Lunch Program these past few weeks. I will be sending out a request for feedback next week and would love if you could take a moment to let us know what worked, what didn't, and what could be done to make it even better.

Please join me in extending a massive thank you to Jacinda Oldale who crafted the menus, organized the kitchen crew, and was the master chef for our three lunch offerings. Thank you as well to Vlado, Jenn, Michelle, Elena, Ella, Ronaye, Mary, and Gr 7 students for your help shopping, chopping, prepping, delivering & cleaning up at the end. And thank you to our faculty for your patience and gentle feedback while we tested systems. We were thrilled to end on a high note of a highly organized and efficient kitchen & delivery system. I'm so sorry if I missed thanking anyone, please know that no one was left out intentionally.

I'm thrilled to be ending the year by ticking off one (of many) goals I had set for myself at VWS. It's been my dream since arriving 8 years ago to nourish and feed children at our school. What we've created is beyond what I had envisioned and I'm grateful to have co-created with such a wonderful crew who has also held a fire in their hearts for a Hot Lunch program to manifest.

Thanks for allowing me to wax on. Enjoy your weekend, everyone!
Many blessings
