PAST PLAYERS ASSOCIATION NEWSLETTER
Hello <<First Name>> <<Last Name>>

This coming summer season is shaping up to be a big season of change for the Monash University Cricket Club.  Due to the construction of the Victorian Heart Hospital (artist impression above) which will begin in August 2018, the last remaining turf cricket wicket will be removed from the campus.  In it's place will be synthetic soccer grounds, which will allow for greater use by the winter clubs.
The Frearson Oval will again be home to cricket, but with a synthetic cricket wicket, our existing synthetic nets will remain, however the training facility will be shared with the Baseball club.
This has left the club in a position where it needs to find at least two turf grounds for the coming season, and will see the club play most of it's turf cricket off campus on Sundays.

2018 Monash University Sports Precinct Works
As part of the works at Monash Sport, the main club pavilion will be redeveloped, which will result in the club rooms for the Frearson oval been on the ground floor.  The change rooms will be upgraded to be female friendly, and a new social room will be built.  Each club will have the ability to have club memorabilia on display, either physical or virtual, and a new bar and kitchen will be built.

Mid Year Cricket
The Monash University Mid Year Teams have made a flying start to the 2018 season, after four rounds we have a team on top of the ladder in South Division, a team sitting third in the south east division, and a team running fifth also in the south division.

Along with team success, the Monash University Cricket Club will have 2 players representing Victoria against New South Wales over the Queens Birthday Long Weekend.
Shoaib Sobhan a hard hitting wicket keeper batsman and Kaushal Surana, an express pace bowler who also hits a long ball, have both made the team.  Kaushal is a current Masters student at Monash University.
