Coming August 20th: TRLN Annual Meeting

TRLN is pleased to announce that the 2018 Annual Meeting will take place on Monday, August 20, 2018 at the Durham Convention Center. The event will feature a keynote address from Zeynep Tufekci, Associate Professor in the School of Information and Library Science (SILS) at UNC-Chapel Hill. The day will also include member presentations, lightning talks, and poster sessions.

For those interested in giving a presentation, a call for proposals will open in June. General registration will open in July. Keep an eye on our website and Twitter for more details. For now, please save the date and plan to join us on August 20!

Learn More About TRLN Transitions

Over the past two years, leaders across TRLN libraries have recognized the need to review the consortium’s organization and governance structure, which have not been formally reviewed or adjusted in many years. Member feedback was gathered at the 2016 and 2017 Annual Meetings, and since then TRLN central staff have been working closely with programmatic council, committee, and task group members and the TRLN Advisory Council to define a new program plan to guide our collaboration through 2022. The Advisory Council has also worked with TRLN central staff to shape a proposed new structure that will enable TRLN members to work together more efficiently. This work plan and structure have been approved by the TRLN Executive Committee and will take effect in 2019.

This summer, there will be several opportunities for you to learn more about these changes, ask questions, and offer feedback. Lisa and Ben will present an info session at NCSU on June 19. Lisa, Ben, and Ginny will present at the Duke Open Forum scheduled for June 28. Opportunities at NCCU and UNC will be announced as details are finalized. There will also be an info session at the Annual Meeting on August 20. Whether on your campus or at the Annual Meeting, we look forward to sharing these transitions with you and continuing to dialogue about how to best support fruitful collaboration across the Triangle.
