Officer Change for Next Year
The Hilburn PTA Board thanks Jennifer Harris, for her years of service on the board as President 2017-2018 and previously as VP of Family Involvement 2016-2017. Jennifer brings vitality and fellowship to her work and she will continue as a treasured parent volunteer at Hilburn Academy. On June 5, 2018 Jennifer resigned from her elected second term as President for next year, 2018-2019. In accordance with the North Carolina Uniform Bylaws for PTAs, the Hilburn PTA Board elected our current VP General, Julie Rivera, to fill the officer vacancy. Julie will serve as Hilburn PTA President for 2018-2019.
We are now seeking to fill the vacant office of VP General 2018-2019. The VP General is responsible for (1) learning the role of the PTA President, and (2) overseeing the PTA nominating committee and shall perform duties requested by the president and the board of directors. The VP General is expected to attend board meetings currently scheduled from 6:30 p.m.-8 p.m. on the following dates: July 24, August 14, September 11, October 9, November 13, December 11, January 8, February 12, March 12, April 9, May 14, and June 4 in addition to at least three General Membership Meetings yet to be scheduled.
