A mystery bidder—widely rumoured to be Amazon—has emerged for UK streaming rights to 20 live soccer games unsold by the Premier League earlier this year. Full details are expected later today. Additionally, BT has increased its roster of matches from 42 games to 52, taking up some additional rights from the unsold packs. In Italy, Serie A has rejected a €1.6bn down payment from Mediapro for disputed rights to the 2019-2022 seasons, which may force the bidding process to restart.

Vice has partnered with UK broadcaster Channel 4 to make a selection of its content available on Channel 4's on demand service, All 4. Australian streamer Stan will be adding a collection of Lionsgate and Starz content on the back of a new distribution deal, and Japanese service U-Next has secured a multi-year deal for CBS content.

The UK Government has approved Fox's bid for the purchase of the remaining stake in Sky, on the condition that Sky News is sold. A bidding war with Comcast now seems inevitable. Pan-regional America Movil subsidiary, Claro, is hoping to expand its US mobile presence beyond its existing MVNO, Tracfone. Middle Eastern operator OSN has bundled its OTT offerings under the Wavo brand into a single package priced at $9.99 a month.
