Time to Receive...

There's always time to give to the self and to take stock, revisit, refine or renew your personal intentions for wellbeing - or to perhaps form them in a completely different way. With these in mind, we are offering a one day Calm-out-of-the-City Silence Day retreat at a beautiful retreat centre on the Mornington Peninsula on Sunday 1st July, 10.00am - 4.00pm.

We invite you to join us and take time out to restart your spiritual well-being clock in a peaceful and powerful way and plant the seeds of peace and success for the next half of the year through this one day guided silence retreat.

Participants will be guided through processes of self-reflection and self-empowerment in an atmosphere of silence and stillness.

Time to Give...

In the receiving, of course there is automatic giving. But once in a while, it's nice to come together in whatever way, shape or form, as one community and share this intention in a practical way.

So head's up for a free community meditation called "Meditators without Borders", 6-7pm, Friday 20th July in support of the inaugural Australian Meditation Conference 20th - 22nd July at the Australian Catholic University. (This meditation will be prior to the evening plenary talk by Dr Rick Hansen).

So, calling all meditators without borders - we invite you to join us at the end of the week to move beyond divisions and radiate peace, love and care to our world. The meditation will be facilitated by Chris Connelly and will be augmented by an exquisite harmonic soundscape provided by master musicians Megan Kenny (on piano, flute, singing bowls and more) and bass guitarist Evri Evripidou.

Megan, who has performed from the concert halls in Europe to the MSO in Melbourne, is a sound oriented player who is highly attuned to the vibrational energy of sound waves.

"Megan Kenny’s renowned music virtuosity and magnetic exuberance captivate audiences wherever she performs." David Temby

Evri works as one of the most in demand musicians in Australia, working not only as a master bass player, but as producer, composer and educator.
"...Evri transcends the usual role of the bass with his musicianship, creativity and the sheer beauty of his playing. The vibe he creates lifts everyone around him..." James Morrison

Chris' voice is well known to the Calm in the City audience due to him having recorded many of our free commentaries available on our soundcloud site - listen to a favourite one called Giver of Light here. We look forward to hearing him live!

We're looking forward to welcoming them - and you - for what promises to be a beautiful, uplifting and nurturing community meditation event.

For all those attending, please note that Meditation Australia are kindly providing a free vegetarian meal before the meditation - so you can come straight from your day! Please do register for catering purposes.

Time to Pause

Please note that in July we will take a Winter break from facilitating the morning meditations at Federation Square. But we will be back on Thursday 2nd of August - until the rest of the year!

With much warmth and peace,

The Calm in the City team.
