Dear Friends,
This past week Naing Lin Swe (aka Naing Naing), Build a School in Burma's country director, visited San Francisco to attend an Advisory Board meeting and to discuss the progress of schools under construction and plans for new projects. His presentations showing our work in Myanmar were really inspiring and we are thankful to have such a great leader there. It wasn’t all work – he also saw the Pacific Ocean and the redwoods, attended a baseball game and rode the roller coaster at Santa Cruz.
During Naing Naing's visit, BSB committees agreed to provide solar power for three additional schools and to fund two more schools. One will be our first in Kayah State, and the second for a violence-displaced Lisu community near Lashio, Northern Shan State. This will bring to ten the number of schools developed during 2018, and to forty the number of BSB schools overall.
Thank you for your support!
Bob
