Looking back on what we have achieved in WA
2017 was a big year for Flux in WA with many notable highlights. We ran a grassroots election campaign with candidates in every upper-house electorate and came very close to getting our #1 candidate elected in Mining & Pastoral.
While we didn’t win a seat in the election, we did win in many other ways. We spread the Flux message from Albany to Broome, Perth to Kalgoorlie, and everywhere in between. We grew our membership to over 1,300 members and had a whole lot of fun along the way.
Building upon our success
Change happens when people work hard behind the scenes to create better outcomes. We are preparing for the upcoming Federal Election and are looking for people to join the WA SteerCo and the associated working groups.
Applications will remain open for a week until Monday the 2nd of July. We will then follow-up individually with people to explain the roles & responsibilities in more detail. In essence, the SteerCo is tasked with making plans and taking action. It requires people with diverse experiences and bundles of enthusiasm.
Does this sound like you? If so, fill out the application and tell us a bit more about yourself!
Gratitude
On behalf of all Flux party members, I’d like to extend a huge thank you to the outgoing SteerCo for all their hard work and dedication to the Flux cause: Ben Ballingall, Daithi Ó Gliasáin, Jim Taylor, Joshua Van Ross, Mark Bentley, Pieter Lottering & Ryan Albrey.
Feel free to forward this email to someone who you think may be interested. We invite people from all backgrounds to participate in making our democracy work better for everyone.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to leadership.wa@voteflux.org.
Thank you for your ongoing support, and I look forward to working together on the next campaign!
