It's not too late to get in on all the daily fun of Summer Reading Club! You may sign up online to log your child's reading electronically, or come in to register your children and receive physical reading logs! Deadline to register for SRC is July 18th, and the last day to redeem SRC prizes is August 1st. Click below to see the full schedule of SRC events for July! Summer Reading Club concludes at our End Party at Broughton Park (801 S Martin Luther King Jr Blvd) Wednesday, July 25th from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM! We'll have fun foam, a DJ, 2 bounce houses, a splash pad, a playground, nachos, and sno-cones - but wait, there's more! Free school supplies and books will be given away, and there will also be a bike raffle (must be present to win)! For more info, please call (903) 237-1345.

Adult SRC 2018
There's still lots of fun and prizes to be had during Adult Summer Reading Club! Everyone ages 18+ may sign up online or at the Library. We have a weekly raffle drawing for awesome prizes each Monday! Every 100 pages read or 2 hours listened to will get you 1 raffle ticket. Simply fill out your raffle ticket submissions at the Library and enter them into the weekly drawings! After a winner is announced, a new raffle cycle begins. The last drawing will be July 23rd. This month has even more opportunities to earn additional raffle tickets by attending certain Library events (see the next 4 items), and those who want even more rewards can tackle “Rock the Challenge!” Learn more at our website below or by calling (903) 237-1349

Bring your dancing shoes to the Library on Thursday, July 12th from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM for Salsa Lessons w/ Kevin! This beginner’s class will introduce you to the art of Salsa Dancing with an intermission to enjoy some chips and salsa! Bringing a partner (whether romantic or friend) is recommended, but not required. Solo attendees may be paired with a stranger. Space is limited, and registration is required. Ages 18+ only please. Come experience the musical magic of "The Greatest Showman" on Tuesday, July 17th from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM! Free popcorn will be provided. This event is intended for adults, but all ages are welcome! Film is rated PG and is 1 hour, 45 minutes. Adult Summer Reading Club participants will receive one extra ticket for the week at the conclusion of the event! Can’t draw a stick figure to save your life? We have the perfect event for you! Join us for Bad Art Night on Thursday, July 19th from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM! This is a fun, yet chill event where participants are encouraged to leave their good taste at home and create the worst piece of art they can. Participants will vote at the end of the event, and the person who creates the most appalling atrocity will win a prize for “Best Worst Art!” Arts and crafts supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring your own! This event is intended for ages 18+, because why should kids get to have all the fun?? Space is limited, and registration is requested. Please join us for our very first Novel Night on September 1st, 2018 from 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM inside the Longview Public Library's Junior League of Longview Rotunda! Doors will open at 7:00 PM. This year, we are transporting you to a tropical paradise and stopping in Margaritaland for a special Murder Mystery event! While solving the Margaritaland mystery, you will be treated to Ray's Island Sounds as he plays the steel drums, and will be entertained by the Grace Hula Dance and Fire Company outside on our Eastman Plaza! We will have heavy hors d'oeuvres, margaritas (of course), beer, and wine! Tickets are available for purchase online and at the Longview Public Library! Must be 21 and up to purchase tickets and attend.
