As long-term care continues to evolve, and with that the needs of the membership, NMCHA remains committed to providing  value and a high return on investment to our members. As part of our efforts to evolve along with you, NMHCA is moving to a shorter, more pointed weekly Bulletin, which we believe will better serve our members’ needs.

Our goal is to make it easier for you to find the information that affects you, your staff, and your residents. Your feedback and suggestions are important to us.

Earlier this month NMHCA members and staff went to Washington, DC, and participated in ACHA/NCAL's Congressional Briefing. In addition to learning about the latest happenings in long-term and post-acute care, NMHCA members and staff met directly with members of Congress and their staff to discuss the most pressing issues, and advocate for what you need to provide the very best care in your centers.

Medicare Part A Value-Based Purchasing

Starting October 1, 2018, all SNF Medicare Part A rates will be cut by 2% to fund an incentive payment pool. At that time, CMS will adjust payments and return some amount to providers based on how well they do in managing hospital readmissions rates. CMS is currently collecting re-hospitalization data using the Skilled Nursing Facility 30-day All-Cause Readmission Measure (SNFRM) to identify re-hospitalizations within 30 days of admission to a SNF.
NMHCA Connects
Member Site Visits

New NMHCA Executive Director, Jason Espinoza, continues traveling the state to visit with long-term care administrators, directors of nursing, and direct care staff. This week Jason met with executive staff from Advanced Health Care of Albuquerque and ABQ Post Acute. The face-to-face meetings give Jason a chance to introduce himself to members, listen to their needs, and learn how the association can continue to provide value and support to long-term care facilities.

If you would like to schedule an in-person visit with Jason at your site, please email him.
