It’s Summer!

by Anne Bertrand, Director / ARCA

Already the end of the year and the last issue of our newsletter before the summer holidays! And whenever one thinks “year-end” one must also think “reports.” According to the Canada Council program manager’s presentation at the recent “Listen. Witness. Transmit” gathering, organizations receiving core funding will have to produce two reports: the first, the Annual Update, must be submitted in order to receive the second installment of the multi-year grant; the second, the Impact Report, must be submitted no later than six months following the organization’s fiscal year-end. The latter will be analyzed by the Council’s research service and program managers. The Impact Report form will be posted on the Council’s website by the fall, and an announcement will be issued as a reminder.

—/ Core Grant Reports

Annual Update
If your organization received a core (operational) grant, you are required to submit an Annual Update. Terms are outlined in your grant notification letter. > More info

Impact Report
The annual Impact Report form will be available via the Council portal later this year. (Until it appears there, you do not need to complete this report.) Core recipients will be notified when they are able to access the form.

Also of interest: following increases to the Council’s budget, the success rate for artist grants has increased from 10–13% to 25–27%. Since the number of grants to artists will be tripled, organizations are asked to encourage their artist members to submit applications, and, most importantly, to register their profile on the portal if they have not already done so. The next application intake is September 12. For Artist-Driven Organizations, the next application deadline is October 24, 2018.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the production team of l’arca in the loop (third edition), without whom this newsletter could not be published regularly: Annie Lafleur, head of strategy and design; Edwin Janzen, English copy editor; and Isabelle Lamarre, English-to-French translator. Many thanks!

Your monthly newsletter will return on September 6, 2018.

Until then, a restful and energizing vacation to all!
