DUT REPRESENTED AT THE 2018 FIFA WORLD CUP IN RUSSIA
Two staff members from the Durban University of Technology’s (DUT’s) Video Technology Department along with former students are experiencing the excitement of the 2018 FIFA World Cup currently taking place from 14 June to 15 July 2018 in Russia.
Professor Pete Burnett, Senior Technician Louis de Waal and 2011 graduate Shepherd Xolo are currently part of the technical crew tasked with broadcasting the soccer matches to a global audience of billions around the world.
DUT TO UNVEIL NEW BUILDINGS AT THE MIDLANDS CAMPUS
The Durban University of Technology (DUT) will on Friday, 22 June 2018, unveil new state of the art buildings and facilities at its Riverside and Indumiso campuses. This is a culmination of a major revamp at these DUT campuses which commenced in 2016.
The project was built in phases: The lecture venues were completed in June 2017. The library was then re-located to a temporary venue, whilst the new library and computer labs were constructed.
The Durban University of Technology (DUT) is ready to host ISEA2018 (International Symposium on Electronic Art) which is coming to Durban from Saturday, 23 to Saturday, 30 June 2018 creating a city-wide showcase of dozens of exhibitions, events, installations, walks, festivals and activities, and a major global conference on new media art, all talking to the theme of Intersections.
DUT’S NIRMA TAKES COLLABORATIVE LEARNING IN A CREATIVE CONTEXT
Creating a link between research and technology is the aim of academic teaching at the Durban University of Technology (DUT).
For the DUT’s international fashion photographer, designer and lecturer, Nirma Madhoo-Chipps, her creative inputs have not gone unnoticed with her recently receiving the ‘Creative Outputs Of The Year Award’ at the 2017 DUT Research Awards.
