At nightfall: Another Tour in China
After three successful tours in China in 2012, 2014 and 2016, Sursaut is off once again to The Middle Kingdom from July 31st to August 29th 2018 with the production At nightfall.
The cast of seven dancers, Stéphanie Brochard, Annie Deslongchamps, Simon Durocher-Gosselin, Adam Dymburt, Amandine Garrido Gonzalez, Jasmine Inns, and Nancy Letendre accompanied by technical director Armando Gòmez Rubio will perform in nine cities across the country. It is worth noting that Adam Dymburt, who has danced the role of Auguste since the production’s creation in 2005, will reprise the part, and will celebrate his 67th birthday while on tour.

As in 2012, Charlotte and Cyril, a choreographic work from the production Boo! will be opening the show.

At nightfall, which will tour in China for the third time, has already been presented in some fifteen Chinese cities. The production has also been presented from coast to coast in Canada, in Mexico, as well as in the United States since its creation in 2005.
Essaim* : A New Production that Highlights the Talent of Up-and-Coming Choreographers
*Essaim is the French word for swarm, meaning in this context a large group of people all moving together.
The creation of Essaim was motivated by a desire to bring together, support and acknowledge the region’s artists who each have a unique creative process.

Mixing contemporary dance, circus arts, theatrical movement and baroque dance, the idea for Essaim was conceived by Francine Châteauvert, artistic and general director of the company, and will showcase short, diverse choreographic works danced as solos or duos, each with a unique choreographic signature.
Essaim will be presented on November 9th and 10th 2018 at 8 p.m. at the Centennial Theatre

School matinees for high school students will be offered on November 8th and 9th at 1 p.m., also at the Centennial Theatre

Me squared: A First Tour
Me squared, created in 2015 by Stéphanie Brochard, will be presented in December 2018 and January 2019 at the Théâtre Outremont in Montreal, at the Carré 150 in Victoriaville, at the Riverview Arts Centre in Riverview, New Brunswick, and at the Riverun Centre in Guelph, Ontario.

Me squared presents three protagonists danced by Amandine Garrido Gonzalez, Jasmine Inns and Xavier Malo, who, on the cusp of adolescence, are confronted by the need to belong to a group all the while maintaining their uniqueness. This search for identity, particularly strong at this age, plays out with dynamism and effervescence that expresses both conflict and harmony.
Acuna : Opening performance of the Petits bonheurs Montreal Festival
Acuna was presented in front of four sold-out houses on May 4th and 5th at the Maison de la culture Maisonneuve in Montreal as part of the Petits bonheurs Montreal festival. A few weeks earlier, from April 10th to 15th 2018, Acuna was presented in Sherbrooke as a workshop-performance to preschool and grade one students, daycares, as well as to the general public. In April 2019, Acuna will be opening the Petits bonheurs Blainville festival.

The Cicada and the Ant: performances in Montreal
After two tours in Mexico in 2015 and 2017 and a tour in China in 2016, The Cicada and the Ant’s seven dancers will return to their roles for a series of shows in March 2019 in Montreal.  The shows will be presented at the Iro Valaskakis-Tembeck hall at the NDG Cultural Centre, which was specifically designed for dance productions.
Created in 2013 by Francine Châteauvert, The Cicada and the Ant evokes a rural environment, and presents at once, the reality of the small farmer’s incessant work on the land, and the inspiring contribution of artist’s in the world.
The Dance Camp at Full Capacity
From July 2nd to 6th, for a thirteenth year, the Sursaut Dance Company will welcome some thirty children between the ages of 6 and 14 for its now traditional day camp.

Led by professional artists in a format that is playful and creative, participants will explore different approaches to movement and will acquire a multitude of tools that will inspire their own creativity.
As is the case each year, a visual arts project will be integrated in the approach to choreographic creation. New this year, participants will have the opportunity to explore other closely related elements to dance creation, namely sound-track creation and set design. The aim is as always to help children develop their own integrative creative process.
