Launched by Pratt Center in 2016, the Neighborhood Data Portal is a free, online data mapping platform that integrates up to 33 vital datasets that break down NYC  by the numbers. We’ve made some essential upgrades to the portal this summer that will give you greater analytical control over the data you need to support your programs and make it easier for you to customize and share your work.

This training will be led by Pratt Center GIS Specialist Sadra Shahab. While it will focus on the fundamentals of using the data portal, the training will also include tips and insights into how spatial data can strengthen and support healthy program development.

Founded in 1963, The Pratt Center for Community Development works for a more just, equitable, and sustainable city for all New Yorkers by empowering communities to plan for and realize their futures. As part of Pratt Institute, a 501(c)(3) educational institution, we leverage professional skills in planning and policy research and analysis to work on the ground with community-based organizations and to influence changes citywide. Our approach combines technical assistance, community organizing, and policy advocacy to support community-based organizations in their efforts to improve neighborhood quality of life, attack the causes of poverty and inequality, and advance sustainable development.
