Over 4,200 clients at 188 food shelves throughout the state of Minnesota responded to questions about how they access the food shelf, the types of food they want, demographics and much more! The survey was conducted by Hunger Solutions and SuperShelf and may or may not contain some surprises about your community.
Using behavioral economic techniques and a respectful approach, SuperShelf transforms spaces into welcoming, client-centered environments. The grant program opens in late summer, but that is not the only way to engage with SuperShelf!
The Senate Farm Bill protects critical nutrition programs, but the battle isn’t won as the House’s bill contains steep cuts to SNAP. Both chambers are expected to vote on their bills prior to the July 4 recess.
We know that we need more than just food shelves and emergency meal programs to address hunger. Second Chance Breakfast and breakFAST are school based programs working to end child hunger.
Interfaith Outreach calls food rescue the backbone of their fresh produce offerings. “Retail Food Rescue helps us make sure our shelves are always stocked and supply some items we might not otherwise receive.”
