Music for Life is a very moving and inspiring programme run by London's Wigmore Hall. Working with people who have been diagnosed with dementia, professional musicians help them reconnect with a little bit of their true selves which they have lost to the illness. Watch their short video here...
And this throws my mind back to a great collaboration between Blackwood and the charity Drake Music Scotland. Working with residents over a period of weeks, the volunteers from DMS helped people with severe disabilities to play music together using unconventional instruments and methods.
