Accessible adventures for National Parks' Week 2018
 

This summer we're celebrating National Parks' Week here in the Peak District with a range of events to help you get out and discover the UK's most accessible National Park.

Access Open Days

19 July
Peak Cavern Taster Tour

Join us for special mobility-friendly tours of Peak Cavern entrance area accessed by one of our Miles without Stiles routes. The mobile changing place will also be at Castleton Visitor Centre to celebrate World Changing Place Day. Meet at Castleton Visitor Centre.
11:00am, 1.30pm and 3.30pm. £5 per person.

 
23 July
Roll & Stroll Guided Walk, Starting at Parsley Hay Cycle Hire 11:00am - 13:00

24 July
Explore the 'Broken Road', Hope Valley
Starting at the turning circle along from Treak Cliff Cavern, mobility scooter and buggy-friendly.
13:30 - 15:30, £4 per adult

26 July, Discover Derwent Dam, Starting at Fairholmes Visitor Centre (Upper Derwent Valley), buggie and scooter friendly, discount scooter hire available. 10:30am (two hours)


26 July, Accessible Derbyshire Day, 'Wheelyboat' taster trips on Ladybower Reservior, Bamford. 14:00 - 16:30. Please book on 01433 659712. 

28 JulyFamily Discovery Walk
Easy stroll, with family activities, along the Tissington Trail to the delightful Ruby Wood. Suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Meet at Hartington signal box. Cost £4 per adult. Discounted cycle hire (including accessible bikes). 12:00 noon - 15:00, £4 per adult

Many of our events will be supported by Accessible Derbyshire and members of their team, on hand with additional advice on how to make the most of the Peak District National Park.

Monday 16 July

North Lees Campsite and Parsley Hay Cycle Hire
A chance to view our accessible camping pod at this beautiful and secluded campsite, between Hathersage and Stanage Edge. Also, head along and see the huge range of accessible opportunities at one of our most popular trails, set in the heart of the White Peak.

Both sites have on-site accessible facilities and a Mobiloo will also be based at Parsley Hay.

Monday 23 July

Parsley Hay Cycle Hire

With striking views across the White Peak, the friendly team at Parsley Hay Cycle Hire can get you moving - on two wheels or four! A range of 'Roll and Stroll' walks will head off from the centre, with no need to book, and to give you a taste of what's available, enjoy a £5 discount off cycle hire on the day.

Walks will head towards Hartington Station and last around 1.5 hours. Accessible toilets and refreshment kiosk.
