NEW ENTRANCE, NEW CAMPERVAN AREA

Did you get caught in queues on Wood Lane last year, or feel cramped in the campervan areas? This is for you...

We've created a new access route onto site and a new campervan area!

The box offices and carpark will be in the same place as usual; from there you'll be directed by our fabulous Traffic Crew. Some vehicles will use Wood Lane while others will take a new route across the race course next to the festival.
ARRIVING, made easy...

Shuttle buses will include a double decker picking folk up from the box office in the carpark, and a dedicated train station shuttle.

The shuttle buses will drop you near a new crossing over the race track.
From there you'll walk a short distance into the festival, get oriented at our new Welcome Tent, and drop your heavy gear into one of our magic hat Baggage Trikes if you need a hand getting it to your camping spot.

Our new campervan field will be next to the race track crossing. We'll also have a larger Family Camping area and a more clearly marked Quiet Camping space for peaceful people.

Check our website for more detail: How & Where.

QUIRKY CAMPERS COMPETITION
Chance to win a GG 2018 ticket, highly desirable campervan pass AND free campervan hire from the fabulous Quirky Campers!

Plus, an off-grid adventurer bundle from Solar Technology International which means you’ll be able to keep all your gadgets charged throughout the festival.

THE RACONTEURS' DELIGHT

Poets, comedians, clowns, magicians, storytellers and jazz musicians rub shoulders in the steampunk bar enjoying temperance drinks and kooky cocktails: think lashings of ginger beer or dandelion and burdock laced with organic gin; elderflower and apple tipples; vegan white russian or bloody mary - with reuseable glasses, compostable straws and edible flower decorations!

Guests performers will include...
Unflinchingly honest, deliciously wicked poet and author Salena Godden
Award-winning loop and spoken word artist Peter Bearder
Anarchic punk poet Paul Eccentric (of Antipoet fame)
Welsh language campaigner and musician Jamie Bevan a'r Gwedillion
Compere, poet and comedian Clare Ferguson Walker
Blues, swing and boogie-woogie with Great Big Feet

Early evenings, there's family fun with the Cool Beans Roadshow, Pypedau Vagabondi Puppet Theatre, Circus Kaos and more.

Daytimes, check out the workshops including Feminist Folk Songs, Land Rights Singers' Circle, Flamenco, Capoeira, Bellydance; Storytelling and Theatre.

POETRY SLAM!
with Clare Ferguson Walker and Johnny Fluffypunk...
Sunday lunchtime, Raconteurs' Delight. Register at the bar.

NATURE'S WAY

Make sure you explore at GG 2018; don't miss the new Nature’s Way!
This enticing avenue will lead from the Stone Circle via the Serendipity Dome to the Peace Tent and Wise Old Oak, before leading you through an arch and into the magical realm of the Faerie Glade and Welsh Wildwood.

Along Nature's Way you’ll find interactive talks, meditation, movement, acoustic music and song, Celtic and Breton dance, ceremonies, arts and crafts… something for and by all ages to delight the senses of touch, taste, sound, scent and sight... culminating in the legendary Very Ancient and Sacred Pimms & Chocolate Ceremony in the Stone Circle on Sunday...

Last year, our Nature’s Way celebrants facilitated the handfasting of several lovely couples in the Stone Circle and also created a bespoke Rites of Passage ceremony. If you’d like to curate your own ceremony at The Green Gathering this year, please contact serendipity@greengathering.org.uk without delay!

Are you a storyteller?
There'll be a story space at the Wise Old Oak and a bardic fire in the Welsh Wildwood... Come along, listen to tall tales, share stories, be part of things… Contact wildwood@greengathering.org.uk to book a slot.
Travel light!
Hire a Tipi, Bell Tent or upcycled Camplight tent, pre-erected for you.

THE CAMPAIGNS FIELD

In the heart of the festival we bring together activists and academics, raising awareness around diverse social and environmental justice issues.

The Speakers’ Forum & Radical Cinema occupies a corner of the field, offering in-depth info, inspiration and debate. Look out for Jack Monroe on food, Molly Scott Cato on being a Green MEP in the time of Brexit, Tamasin Cave of Spinwatch on the privatisation of the NHS, Dave Randall on sound systems and the political power of music...

The Co-operators’ Camp offers insight into how we can organise housing, work and other necessities in fairer, more fun ways with radical co-operatives. Imagine housing without landlords, food without supermarkets, money without banks and work without bosses.

The field will also be hosting a Workshop Dome with packed programme, Women’s Tent, Travellerspace, Campaign For Real Events, Earth First!, South West Against Nuclear (SWAN), Radical Parenting, Cal’s Garden, waste-minimising Resource Centre and Veggies Catering Campaign.

Evenings are owned by the solar-powered Radical Wales DIY open mic stage - come along, have a go!

Have a look what happened in 2017 and get in the mood with video highlights from a selection of this year's confirmed acts...
3 Daft Monkeys, Dragonsfly, Smiley & The Underclass, Kangaroo Moon, Funke & the Two Tone Baby, River Roots, Skiprat, Vojta, Pagan Love Cult, and Matthew Frederick.
THE HEALING CIRCLE

With fabulous views across the Wye Valley, the Healing Circle is a haven of gentle tranquility and positive growth. Kundalini yoga, acro-yoga, tai chi, chi gung, sound baths, dance journeys and magical concerts take place here.

There's space to meditate, chant and sing; take part in discussions; join a flute workshop; relax in the healing garden; and learn about Taoist sacred sexuality.

Practitioners of massage and other complementary therapists offer a fantastic opportunity to experience a session with a gifted, qualified practitioner at a fraction of the usual price, on a 'magic hat' basis.

CYCLE TO THE GREEN GATHERING

If you fancy an adventure before you even arrive... don't forget we've teamed up with Red Fox Cycling to run a Guided Cycle Ride from Bristol train station to the festival.

Meet lovely, like-minded people; go for the Greenest option; stop for a pub lunch en route; explore country lanes; and get a free green goodie bag too... find out more, sign up!

Flyers need help flying!
If you can help distribute GG posters (A4) and flyers (A6), please email em@greengathering.org.uk with your postal address and how many you'd like. We need everyone who loves the festival to spread the word!

Our flyers are based on photos taken at the festival by Stefan Handy and Keef Gibson; the pics are interpreted by artist Drea Blackbird who paints in acrylic on canvas.
