Shrut Panchami Celebrations @ Sri Jain Mandir, Toronto

Wish you all a very Happy Shrut Panchami and many thanks for participating in the celebrations @ SJM.

As we all are aware that our most sacred & holy religious book Shatkhandagam (the foremost and oldest Digambar text) got written on Shrut Panchami i.e. Jyeshtha Shukla Panchami by Muni Pushpadant & Muni Bhutbali.

Sri Jain Mandir took a great stride today by starting the age-old tradition of celebrating Shrut Panchmi annually in the temple. The event was celebrated with full vigour and enthusiasm.

Abhishek, Shantidhara and Pujan- The program commenced with Abhishek, Shantidhara and Shantinath Bhagwan’s pujan followed by Shrutpanchami pujan. New Cloth was offered to Shatkhandagam Granth so as to protect it and as a Shrut Panchami ritual.

Swadhayay Session- After Pujan, there was Swadyay session by Ahimendra Ji who gave an enlightening discourse on the importance of Aagam, its volume and the immense knowledge within it.

Aagam Quiz -Pujan was followed by the most awaited online Aagam quiz in which 40+ people participated. Jaikant Singhai, Apoorva Jain and Shikha Singhai secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively. Important Note: It was announced that people can do swadhayay from the above series and then thematic quizzes can be organized on a regular interval on the demand of the people doing swadhayay. Also people who commit to do Swadhayay everyday are invited to select any of the Shastra from the above list and approach Vijay ji (647-987-8643) within a week; he will make arrangements to provide the hardcopy of the book free of cost.

Shastra Sthapana Boli- Shastra Sthapana boli was taken by Manisha Ji and Vijay ji.
Shastra Sthapana- Shatkhandagam ji was carried on jewelled Palki to the decorated place where Shastra ji was placed. All the people sang jinvani stuti while Shastraji was carried to its new place.

Vote of Thanks-Towards the end of the program, Vijay ji offered the vote of thanks to the people who volunteered to make this program a huge success.

Ahimendra ji & Tejas Ji - For contributing in identifying the place for placing Shastra ji.
Manjiri ji and Apoorva- For decorating the place where Shastra ji was placed.
Manisha ji, Manasvi and Purvi – For making the jewelled Palki for carrying Shastra ji.
Manisha ji- For conceptualizing and conceiving the idea of organizing this event for the very first time in the temple.
We offer thanks to Vijay ji for designing the quiz and hosting it.

Prize distribution – All the winners were awarded in the felicitation ceremony.

Father's Day celebrations- SJM Ladies group organized Father's Day celebrations by giving cards to all fathers by their children and took kitchen responsibility. Samuhik Puja was sponsored was by Rishi Sunder Das and family.
