Outdoor Kitchens

Summertime and barbecuing, dining al fresco into the late evening hours sounds delicious, doesn't it? Here are 4 points to consider when investing in an outdoor kitchen:

Exposure to the Elements:
We don't have to worry about the snow and cold in Southern California, but we do need to worry about the rain (please!), and the beating sun.  When building your outdoor kitchen, consider what components will need to be protected, and how you can work in their protection to match the decor of the area.

I love gazpacho in the summertime! Here is my current favorite recipe, from the Fess Parker Inn of Los Olivos, CA:
Ingredients: 4 slices of day old bread, water, tomatoes (about 11-13 Pearl/medium sized), 1 clove of garlic, 1/3 cup of olive oil, 1/4 cup sherry vinegar or white wine vinegar, 1-2.5 cups cold water, smoked paprika, salt and pepper to taste.
1. Remove crusts from the bread and place the bread in a large bowl of water. Let soak 10 minutes, then remove and squeeze the water from the bread.
2. Place the garlic and the tomatoes, roughly chopped, in the bowl of a food processor and process until fine.
3.  Add the bread, olive oil, vinegar, 1 cup of water and process until smooth, adding more water if needed. Add paprika, salt and pepper, process briefly to blend.
4. Taste and adjust seasoning. Chill for 2+ hours.
Serve chilled, with a swirl of olive oil, and a garnish like cilantro, sour cream, chopped sweet onion, or chopped cucumber.
Final Funny:
Q: Why did the teddy bear say no to dessert?
A: She was already stuffed!
East Long Beach pool home had multiple offers over list price within 24 hours of going on the market.  Who do you know that needs my help in getting their home sold quickly, for a great price, with qualified buyers?

Client Events this Summer

As I mentioned last month, there won't be a big summer party this year, instead lots of smaller groups and activities. as a way to share my appreciation for you and your family. Look for more information in an email specific to Client Appreciation soon! Think pizza, concerts in the park, boat rides, movies!

Another East Long Beach pool home in escrow last month. A great 1/1 condo, not far from the beach, coming up this month.
