On May 8th, the Charlotte County School Board failed to follow their own policy with regards to the process for adopting instructional materials. More importantly,
they failed to follow Florida law.
On June 13th, Florida Citizens Alliance took a stand against the Charlotte School Board to halt the indoctrination of students via flawed instructional materials and pressure the School Board to stop violating Florida Instructional Materials laws. FLCA's Charlotte County "watchdog team" (led by John Doner) worked with the FLCA legal team to craft and send
a "demand letter" to Charlotte County School Board members.
At the same time, FLCA is battling the Collier County School Board who are attempting to adopt science books which teach man-made global warming and the theory of evolution as "established fact". They refuse to consider such arguments as "
New Genetic Discovery Turns ‘Settled’ Evolution Science on Its Head".
And of course, we still have the Collier County instructional materials lawsuit that remains pending in Florida’s 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals.
We need to raise $6,000-$7,000 to fund these efforts. We have a $2,000 matching grant but really, really need your help now.
Why is this important? School boards across Florida are defying HB 989, the bill we worked so hard to get signed in 2017. Legal challenges must be part of our toolkit!
Florida Kids Deserve Better! We must fight to stop the indoctrination. Their future and the very future of our Constitutional Republic is at stake.
