This new newsletter gives BRU-IUL researchers and PhD students information on recent calls regarding funding opportunities and awards.
The BRU-IUL Team will keep you updated concerning new funding opportunities. In the meantime if you are aware of additional information please send us an email.

FCT Programs

Programme for Cooperation in Science between Portugal and Poland 

FCT and the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange hereby launch a call for joint project proposals from Portuguese and Polish research teams, for the 2019-2020 period. This call falls within the framework of the Agreement for Cooperation in Science between Portugal and Poland (established in 2005).

Deadline: 31 July 2018

FCT and the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD) hereby launch a call for joint project proposals from Portuguese and German research teams, for the 2019-2020 period. This call falls within the framework of the Agreement for Cooperation in Science between Portugal and Germany (established in 1990).

Deadline: 31 July 2018

Awards
AERNA Awards: Best Published Paper and Best Presentation 

AERNA Award: Best Published Paper
AERNA issues a prize of 1.000€ for the best paper published in scientific journals during 2016 and 2017, in which at least 50% of the authors are members of AERNA in 2018. Award winners are expected to present their paper at a future AERNA event. The deadline for applications is June, 30th, 2018. 

Please send your applications to aerna2018@gmail, indicating in the subject “AERNA AWARD FOR THE BEST PUBLISHED PAPER".


AERNA Award: Best Presentation

AERNA issues a prize of 500€ for the best paper presented at the VI AERNA Conference by a PhD Student or a PhD holder that has defended his thesis after 5th June 2016. The deadline for applications is June 30th, 2018. 

Please send your applications to aerna2018@gmail, indicating in the subject “AERNA AWARD FOR THE BEST PRESENTATION".

Grants
ERC Advanced Grant
 
Advanced Grants are designed to support excellent Principal Investigators at the career stage at which they are already established research leaders with a recognised track record of research achievements. Applicant Principal Investigators must demonstrate the ground-breaking nature, ambition and feasibility of their scientific proposal.

Deadline: 30 August 2018

Small Research Grants in Enquiry Spencer Foundation 

The Small Research Grants program is intended to support education research projects with budgets of $50,000 or less. In keeping with the Spencer Foundation’s mission, this program aims to fund academic work that will contribute to the improvement of education, broadly conceived.

Deadline: Small Research Grant proposals are accepted 4 times per year. The next deadline is at 4:00pm CDT, August 1, 2018.
The following deadlines will fall on November 1, 2018, February 1, 2019, and May 1, 2019.

Todos os projetos financiados pela Comissão Europeia no âmbito do Horizonte 2020 estão abrangidos por um mandato de disseminação Open Access dos resultados da investigação, indicando explicitamente que cada beneficiário deverá assegurar o acesso aberto (online e gratuito para qualquer utilizador) de todas as publicações científicas com revisão por pares.

A I&I como suporte à política climática: oportunidades de financiamento ao nível Europeu 

No âmbito do Ano OE das Alterações Climáticas, a Ordem dos Engenheiros (OE), o Gabinete de Promoção do Programa Quadro de I&DT (GPPQ) e a Agência Portuguesa do Ambiente (APA) estão a organizar uma sessão de divulgação das oportunidades de financiamento de I&I, com enfoque nos tópicos dedicados às alterações climáticas nos Desafios Societais da Bioeconomia (DS2) e Ação Climática (DS5) do Horizonte 2020 e as oportunidades no programa LIFE. Serão também abordadas as estratégias que estão a ser desenhadas para o pós 2020 nesta área.

A sessão decorrerá na tarde do dia 19 de junho (14h15-17h00) no Auditório da Ordem dos Engenheiros (OE), em Lisboa
