LoftSmart is an online marketplace for the 18 million students in the US spending $155B on private rentals. They provide landlords with workflow tools and renters with a digital platform to streamline an end-to-end rental process from search-to-signing-to-payments.

LoftSmart was founded in 2015 when CEO Sam Bernstein, recipient of the Thiel Fellowship and Forbes 30 Under 30, dropped out of the University of Virginia and moved to Austin, TX, where he met co-founder Sundeep Kumar, an engineer at Dell. LoftSmart has already become the leading student housing rental platform at several campuses. This Series A funding will allow LoftSmart to both go deeper at existing campuses as well as expand to other major campuses nationwide.
