Board Bids Farewell to Trustee Cindy Hebda

Long-time Trustee Cynthia Hebda has resigned from her Village Board position, effective June 30. During the June 19 Village Board Meeting, Trustees formally bid farewell to Cindy, who is relocating to Indiana. Mayor Roger Byrne read a proclamation outlining just a few of the highlights of Cindy's contributions to the Village and wider community. First appointed to the Board in July 1993, Cindy became known as "The Tree Lady" as she made sure development focused on quality planning and good landscaping. She has been instrumental in helping manage tremendous growth in the Village, including everything from development of corporate parks, the arrival of the Vernon Hills Post Office, and the development of Gregg's Landing and Aspen Pointe Shoppes. A long-time teacher for Vernon Hills Park District, Ms. Cindy will be missed.

Police Officer Testing

The Vernon Hills Police Department will conduct testing for officer positions. Applications are available at the Police Station, 740 Lakeview Parkway or online. Completed applications should be provided in person or by mail by Monday, July 23 at 4 p.m. More information is available on the Police Officer webpage.
