To God be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations,
forever and ever. Amen.
Dear Friends of ITS,

I love the fact that God often works from “small beginnings” and often through men with a vision (Zechariah 4:10).

Speaking of small beginnings, Indianapolis Theological Seminary launched in the fall of 2015 with 8 students, 2 adjuncts and 1 volunteer.  Now, less than three years later, we have 78 students, 15 adjunct professors, 11 board members and 1,304 library books!

While we are still relatively small, our vision is big!  We seek nothing less than to collaborate with many local churches to provide robust theological training in the evangelical and Reformed traditions, for the sake of the gospel in central Indiana.  Numerous churches have joined with us.  Thanks be to God!  We are realizing our vision more and more every day.
A big part of our success has been the work of leaders like Dr. Nicholas Piotrowski.  When he first relocated here in 2011 and discovered there was no evangelical seminary in Indianapolis, Nicholas began to wonder why.  More importantly he wondered, “What should be done?”  Through much prayer, tireless dedication, and countless meetings with pastors and church leaders, Nicholas began to lead us towards the launch of the seminary’s first classes in September 2015.
Nicholas was uniquely qualified for this endeavor.  His academic training at Reformed Theological Seminary and Wheaton College, his experience as a professor at Crossroads Bible College, and his energy for pulling others together—all as a volunteer—have impressed those of us who have worked with him.

In the spring of 2017, Dr. Piotrowski was hired to serve part-time as our Academic Dean.  Since then ITS has continued to grow and solidify into a reputable and viable institution, recognized by many as a place where students will receive a robust and thoroughly biblical education.

With this growth, the Board has recognized the need for Nicholas to commit to leading ITS in a full-time capacity.  In March, we voted to hire Nicholas as our first full-time President & Academic Dean.  He resigned from Crossroads and began his new role at ITS on July 1.
Additionally, we also saw the need for a full-time Director of Operations.  Starting on August 1, therefore, Bruce Winter will begin that important work.  Bruce trained as an engineer and served 32 years at Dow Corning Corporation in various roles in research, manufacturing, and product line management.  He retired early and began training for pastoral ministry at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.  For the last 6 years, he has served on the pastoral team at Sunrise Church in Midland, Michigan.
Bruce has both business acumen and extensive church leadership experience.  He is married to Carole; they have two sons and seven grandchildren. We are excited to welcome Bruce to the team!
The Board of Directors is grateful to God for the caliber of these men that will lead our seminary into the future.  Please join me in praising God for the recent growth of the school, and welcoming both Nicholas and Bruce to their full-time roles!

Yours for the sake of the gospel in central Indiana,

Dr. Steve K. Sandvig
Vice-President, Board of Directors.
