July 7th - Cattywampas with Matt Hawkins
In town for the July 4th weekend? Have family and friends visiting and want to show them a good time? Then come out to Faith Presbyterian this Saturday for a night of Contra Dance! This week we have special guests Cattywampas from the Atlanta area coming to play. Calling the dance will be Matt Hawkins of Huntsville.
"Cattywampas has been playing great dance music for over 35 years. Tim Cape (fiddle), Jan Smith (fiddle, banjo) and Scott Russell (guitar) play an eclectic mix of tunes from Southern, Northern, Irish, and Quebecois traditions. They pride themselves on crafting exciting medleys and matching and shaping them to the caller’s choice of dances."
The dance starts at 7:00 pm, after the 6:30 pm newcomer's workshop (which all are encouraged to attend!) at the Faith Presbyterian Church in south Huntsville, on the corner of Airport and Whitesburg Drive.
