Careers Speaker Week was a huge success!

The children were visited by speakers from a range of varied backgrounds. We had an exciting range of speakers including an editor, a grime artist, graphic designers, a lawyer, a yoga teacher, police officers and others. The children asked thoughtful questions and became even more
aspirational with some planning where they would like to do their work experience when they are in secondary school. Thanks to Miss Webster for taking the time to plan such a fun range of speakers.

They also met their new classmates who will be joining Avonmore in September ... so much to look forward to Nursery.. exciting times ahead!

Reception have been recording and using marks when playing Maths Mastery games this week. Some children used a tally chart to record their scores and some wrote down the number of times they won the game.

Year 1 had a wonderful trip to the theatre to see We're Going on a Bear Hunt Live with Ms Bourke, their teacher for next year.

Last Day of Summer Term - Thursday July 19th

We will be celebrating the end of a glorious year at Avonmore with a summer picnic for the whole school.  Parents, carers and other family members are warmly invited to join us from 12 noon onwards.
School will close as usual at 2pm for the summer holidays.

Attendance continues to be a whole school priority for Avonmore- we are not yet in line with the national expectation of at least 96%.

The last few weeks of school are just as important as the first few weeks. The children get to take part in lessons that support them in preparing for the challenges of the next academic year, trips, workshops and productions that celebrate all they have achieved this year and teaching and learning continues right up until the last day of term so it is hugely important that children attend every day to get the most out of the remaining weeks. A big thank you to those children and parents and carers who have worked hard to get to school on time every day.
