Stay Safe in the Sun

The weather we have been having over the last few weeks has been incredible and temperatures are only set to get higher. After having a treatment it is important to drink plenty of water, this is especially crucial this time of year to avoid dehydration and heat stroke. Dehydration can lead to muscle cramps, fatigue, faintness, headaches and can also cause a reduction in concentration. On a normal day it is recommended to drink at least 8 cups of water, however, in this heat, we recommend increasing water consumption to at least 10 cups, especially if you have had a massage treatment.

During a massage or a facial treatment, we often use products containing oils, which are great massage mediums and good at keeping your skin hydrated. However, these oils may increase your risk of burning in the sun, so it is important to keep these areas covered or remove the products as soon as possible and apply an SPF. We do have Clarins sun cream testers in the salon should clients wish to apply some before leaving.
