Coastal Treasures: Holiday activities by three Indigenous artists

Drop-in to Artspace Mackay anytime during the July school holidays to enjoy free art and craft.

Inspired by our local coastal environment, three indigenous artists, Luke Mallie, Ed Rigby and Charlie Wicking have designed a collection of art activities.

These include:

  • A paste-up mural,
  • Beach sculptures,
  • Drawing and collage for the whole family to enjoy

Kids Art Club:
Term Three

August 4 - September 8
> Six to eight year olds: 10am to noon
> Nine to 10 year olds: 1pm to 3pm

Bookings now open! Artspace is thrilled to announce award winning artist Rosemary Payne will be our tutor for Term Three Kids Art Club!

Rosemary is one of Mackay’s most popular art tutors, she loves teaching and has a wealth of art experience.

$150 per child for six weeks (includes all materials). Call 4961 9722 to book.

The BIG PRINT! day

1pm to 4pm
Artspace Mackay Gallery and carpark

Bring your whole family for the great BIG PRINT! Day. There will be lots to see and do, with loads of creative printing, stamping, rubbing, stenciling, invisible ink and photocopying activities throughout the gallery and out into the carpark.

You can even watch local artists Brigitte Zimmerman, Traci Lietzke and Marilyn Bliss, from the Jumbo Roller Print Project using a big, real-life steamroller to make large, collaborative prints in the Artspace carpark!

Speed Date The Collection

Last Thursday of every second month
5.45pm for a 6pm start to 7.15pm

 

A creative & fun way to learn about the council's Art Collection. Our informal Speed Date The Collection night is an opportunity for members of the community to ‘meet’ artists’ books from the collection in an informal and interactive way.
