Smaller summer harmful algal bloom forecast for western Lake Erie

NOAA and its research partners predict that western Lake Erie will experience a harmful algal bloom (HAB) of cyanobacteria this summer that is smaller than in 2017 but larger than the mild bloom in 2016.

Clean and Safe Boating Day on August 11

A "Clean and Safe Boating Day" event at the Aquatic Visitors Center is part of the 2018 North American Safe Boating Campaign, held each summer to educate the boating public about the safety and comfort of inflatable life jackets.

Bay Point Marina Becomes Ohio’s First Platinum Clean Marina

Bay Point Marina in Marblehead earned Ohio’s first platinum Ohio Clean Marina certification, which is now the highest certification available in the state. Bay Point is the first marina statewide to participate in the new tiered certification structure.
