Interest rates at online banks are on the rise. If your cash reserve is earning less than 1%, you can do better.

San Diego recently banned short-term vacation rentals unless it is the owner's primary residence. Cities everywhere are becoming more aggressive with their regulation. Do your homework before purchasing a property for the sole purpose of being a short-term vacation rental. 

You may be able to reduce your taxes by investing in economically distressed areas. Opportunity zones were added to the tax code by the TC&JA passed in December, but without enough detail. More information from the IRS is expected to be released soon.

PWR's Summer Plans 

Alicia and Travis traveled to Asia this summer visiting Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Hong Kong and Macau. Here they are at a Pug Cafe, a popular trend in Asia, where you can hang out with pets.
Linda and Tim signed up for a running series in Memphis. Here they are at their first race, a 5K. The races will get progressively longer, ending with a half marathon in November.
