Quilters Bias Bars now for $12.99. The set has 3/16", 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" wide metal bars that are 12" long. Use them to perfectly press sewn bias strips to make your own unique bias for Celtic applique, stems, vines and other designs.
Celtic Knot Sashiko!
Aine and Danu are 14" squares of 100% cotton fabric, printed with permanent white stitching lines for a sashiko style embroidery block. These Celtic knot designs measure approximately 10" across. The markings on the dark blue fabric will not wash out and even applying heat to it directly will not remove the marks.
It is recommended that Sashiko thread or #5 pearl cotton thread be used for the stitching. No detailed instructions are given for the sashiko since the marked lines provide the spacing for basic running stitches. Suggested notions are listed inside the package.
After the stitching is completed, use this 14" square block featuring a Celtic design by Scarlett Rose, for quilts, tote bags, pillows, garments, etc. Since the design is 10", you may trim down the block size and shape, if desired. This block may also be embroidered with stem stitch, twilling stitch, any other embroidery stitch or combination of stitches that will cover the marked lines.

Scarlett's art quilt, Bad Moon Rising, is in the Fly Me To The Moon touring exhibit until 2019/20. This exhibit celebrates the 50th anniversary of Man Landing on the Moon and all these incredible quilts have been published in a gorgeous hardbound book.

Quilts + Genealogy = Family Stories
Scarlett's new lecture, Quilts + Genealogy = Family Stories, starts with some special quilts that represent connections between family and friends. Then Scarlett provides an intro to Genealogy with DNA testing, another of her interests. The lecture finishes by showing how these two subjects have linked themselves in her life and provided her with a wonderful stories of discovery that she'll share with you.
Scarlett's Remember the 40s lecture covers her family's history during WWII through her grandmother's quilts and a very special friendship quilt made with vintage signature quilt blocks. Scarlett wears a bandanna tied in honor of Rosie the Riveter and encourages everyone to join in on the fun!
