Wearable Art Mandurah Showcase: It's a Wrap!   


Forty one extraordinary wearable art garments, a Swan Lake moment, an operatic debut, beautiful lighting, record attendance – this year’s showcase had it all.
 
Congratulations to Artistic Director, Bernie Bernard, her cast and crew, DTX Studios Mandurah, Metro Modelling & Dance Academy and John Curtin College of the Arts.
 
Special thanks to our Wearable Art Mandurah designers. What an honour to bring these garments to life.

Wearable Art Mandurah 2019 Competition

The Hydrodome Project -
Appearing in Yagan Square!


Film footage from the Hydrodome Project has trickled up to Perth all the way to Yagan Square, appearing on the new state-of-the-art digital tower. The underwater swimming edit of the film will be played as a regular feature throughout the year.

In the coming weeks, the footage of the Wardong Dancers from Dudley Park Primary School will also be shown on the large cylindrical screen. If you would like the screening times, please contact Heloise Lorimer at Heloise.lorimer@mandurah.wa.gov.au.

Entente

Fri, 29 June - Sun, 22 July

Entente is a collaboration between artists of the Peel region that demonstrates how bringing together alternative views and ideas can stimulate creativity. This is an exhibition of contemporary artists working with a wide range of mediums, including print, photography, ceramics, textiles and mixed media. Read more.

Artist Talk with a twist!
Join CASM with the Entente artists as they discuss their works and demonstrate some of the technical processes featured in the exhibition.

Artist of the Month - Hilly Coufreur
Each month, CASM will be highlighting one artist with items currently available in the Gift Shop. Hilly is a local Mandurah artist who works primarily in acrylics. Her works are a process of spontaneous gestures, adding, moving and subtracting paint. Read more.

CASM Art Lecture Series
Expression of Interest Survey

CASM is looking to start a series of art history presentations in collaboration with art historian Frances Sullivan–Rhodes. Topics may include the History of Beauty, the Use of Art as Persuasion, Art and Power, Religious and Political Art and Art that Engages with Commodity Culture to name a few. Please complete this short survey to assist us in gauging local interest for the series. Start survey.

Transformation Mandurah Bridge Photographic Award

Exhibition: 17 - 29 July @ Mandurah Community Museum  
Throughout the transformation of the Mandurah Bridge, community members and visitors have been encouraged to share their stories and memories of the crossing point. A selection of these memories and photographs will be on display at the exhibition.

Sixty two community members submitted photos of Mandurah's past and current bridges - a total of 100 photographs, more than 30 of these photographs will be on display in the exhibition.
