"Wedding Dance" in grand pavilion a success

We threw a party in Brambleberry's Grand Wedding Pavilion and Event Center on Saturday, June 23 when we hosted an "Almost a Wedding Dance."
We had an open date in our schedule -- which is common when a new facility is just opening (weddings don't happen overnight!) so we hired Good Times Entertainment DJ service to play some tunes, cooked up some hamburgers, brats and hot dogs and had a party.
Thanks to everyone who attended. The weather was beautiful and we hope you enjoyed our new facility. Our majestic Grand Pavilion for wedding receptions was custom-designed for your special day. This unique and impressive 4,000 square-foot party pavilion is among the top high quality wedding venues in Western Wisconsin. Brambleberry’s Grand Pavilion is able to seat up to 300 of your friends and family for receptions in comfort and style. Already tastefully furnished, this beautiful, open air party pavilion needs no further adornment or embellishment (saving you money) but you are welcome to add your own decorative touches to customize this incredible space.
Our delightful outdoor/indoor party palace for receptions features three sets of charming sliding barn doors that can be enclosed during inclement weather. The east side of the building has open pillars that lead directly to the wedding ceremony garden. If desired, we are able to enclose this wall with attractive cathedral tent panels. The floor of the pavilion is a high quality colored and polished concrete. Recessed lighting is throughout the building, and party lights add a festive feel to the dance floor. Four high-powered commercial/industrial ceiling fans keep the air moving on warm summer days. Plenty of electrical outlets are available for your DJ or band as for reception guests to charge their phones.
Because we opened much later than anticipated due to delayed construction, we have plenty of openings for the 2018 wedding season. Check out our prices and compare us to the state's better barn and winery venues that are charging $5,000 to $6,500. You won't find a better deal! 

New wines being released 

Brambleberry is always working on our wine selection, making experimental batches and trying new recipes. We just received approval on several new wines, including two that will be released shortly -- a new sangria-style wine called the Feisty Friar to join our wildly popular Dimwitted Knave raspberry sangria and a semi-sweet German white blend called Celtic Mist.

Chicks are growing fast; sheep are sheared

 Our new batch of chicks are growing quickly. Breeds this year are Houdan, Silver Gray Dorking, Golden Lace Wyandotte, Red Cap, Black Australorp and Buff Rock. The Houdan is a unique looking chicken with a feathery crest. The Houdan chicken breed derives its name from a village in the Department of Yvelines, France which is west of Paris in Normandy. It is believed that the breed was developed over centuries using the common five-toed fowls that existed during the time of the Roman author Columella, AD 4 to AD 70. Mottled white on a black background, Houdan chickens have both beards and crests and make a distinctive impression. They have five toes on each foot (most chickens have four) with legs and feet mottled black on white.
The sheep were also sheared, just in time for the hot weather. We're fortunate to have the aptly named Randy Schier take care of our flock. Sadly there is no money in Scottish Blackface wool.
We've also harvested our first cutting of hay, which was several weeks behind normal because of the late spring and because of lots of rain. We should have enough small square bales to feed our animals for the winter, which is always a nice feeling. Some of the hay did get ruined when more than 3 inches of rain fell on a field that had already been raked twice. We'll probably try to put our second (and hopefully a third) cutting into round bales to feed the cattle.
