Summer is in full-swing, and so is our summer reading program for adults and kids of all ages.
It’s not too late to participate and to register for prizes!  Be sure to catch our special local guest performers each week at different libraries around the county.

Chesterfield Library

 

July  10  -  3:30pm  -  “Ukulele Club”
     Come join the fun as we learn to play the ukulele together.  Equipment will be         
     provided, however participants are   encouraged to bring their own instruments as           well.
July  11  -  3:00pm  -  “Libraries Rock – Rock Painting”  -  Be a rock artist and join this
     latest rock painting trend.  Paint rocks to drop in your community and spread     
     inspiration and cheer.  This program is being offered in conjunction with the summer
     reading program and is open to adults and children ages 5 and up.  Wear clothes
     suitable for painting.  Rocks will be left here to dry overnight and can be picked up the
     following day, July 12th for distribution.
July  20  -  2:00pm  -  “Movie Afternoon”  -  Showing  I Can Only Imagine
     Growing up in Greenville, TX, Bart Millard suffers physical and emotional abuse at the
      hands of his father, Arthur.  When Arthur becomes terminally ill, he finds redemption        by embracing his faith and rediscovering his love for his son.  Years later, Bart’s                troubled childhood and mended relationship with his dad inspires him to write the hit
      song “I Can Only Imagine” as singer of the Christian band MercyMe.
July  24  -  3:30pm  -  “Ukulele Club”
     Come join the fun as we learn to play the ukulele together.  Equipment will be                   provided, however participants are encouraged to bring their own instruments as well.
July  25  -  2:00pm  -  “Adult Summer Reading Program Movie Sing-A-Long”  -  Showing 
     Mama Mia Join in the fun and laughter as we sing along with the songs from the movie version of this Broadway smash-hit.  It’s all the ABBA songs you know and love, it will be a feel-good experience that will have you singing the rest of the day!
July  27  -  5:00pm-9:00pm  -  “Teen Lock-In”
*  Summer Reading Program  -  (ages 5-12)  -  Every Monday  -  3:00pm
*  Children’s Story Time  (ages 0-5)  -  Every Monday  -  10:30am
*  Seated Tai Chi  -  Every Tuesday  -  10:00am
*  Giant Patron Word Search Puzzle  -  “Drums of the World”  -  This is a community project.  Find one word and enter your name in the drawing to win a prize.

July 18  -  11:00am  -  “Joy Rock Painting”  -  Fun activity for all ages  -  All supplies
