Don't Worry, BEE Happy at IVY Academy

Bees are dying at an alarming rate worldwide, and at an especially high rate in Tennessee. IVY Academy, an environmentally focused charter school, is hoping to tackle this issue by adding a bee population to its agricultural science program with the help of a grant to kick off the effort. Teachers at the academy have been able to work factoids about bees and the program into classes across subjects, giving students lessons they can watch play out firsthand.

Tennessee Valley Beekeepers Association vice president, Doug Eckert, believes that informing people about the issue is the first step to reversing this decline. Check out the full story on how students are getting involved  here.
