First Tuesday Tours
Explore the art, architecture, and history of Savannah City Hall on a free tour with the Municipal Archives department. The tour begins at 12 noon and is limited to the first 25 people so click here to reserve your spot now!
Lift Every Voice Savannah
On Saturday, August 18th, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., the Beach Institute, in partnership with the City of Savannah Municipal Archives, will offer free admission to the exhibit Capturing the Soul, where guests will discover portrait photography through the collection of Civil Rights leader and local historian W. W. Law.

August Hungry for History Lecture
This presentation will offer the unique perspective of a native son who started his professional life as a staff photographer on the Savannah daily newspapers, and now, retired after a 50+ year career, is serving as the City’s Second District Alderman.
Savannah Jazz Festival
The Savannah Jazz Festival is a free week-long program taking place in venues throughout the city, culminating in three days in Forsyth Park, and traditional ‘after-hours’ jam sessions around town. Click here to view this year's schedule.

Cultural Affairs Commission News
The next Cultural Affairs Commission meeting will be held at 9 W. Henry Street on August 8 at 6pm.
The Public Art subcommittee will also hold a meeting from 5-6pm at 9 W. Henry St on August 8. The public is invited to attend this meeting where they will learn more about the sub-committee.
Save the Date: Meet your commissioners
The Cultural Affairs Commission invites the public to a Meet and Greet at The Beach Institute's African American Cultural Center on September 12 from 6-7.30pm.
