Upcoming Events:

Meet the PAX:

F3 Name: Rafiki
Real Name: Paul Russell
Age: 36
Nickname Origin: I had just returned from Disney World about a week before my first post. Someone asked about my favorite character and Rafiki stuck.
Personal Background: I’m a native of Grifton. Currently reside in Ayden. I earned a BSBA and MBA from ECU. An IT guy at heart, I began working for the ECU College of Business’s Computer Services department in 2005. I moved over to the Graduate Programs department a few years later. I’m currently the COB’s Director of Graduate Programs. I’ve been married for almost 12 years and have two sons, Nick (aka Timon) and Nate.
Hobbies: Golf, Running, ECU Sports, Concerts
How did you get involved in F3: I saw Vanilla getting active in F3 and started reading more about it. I had been doing a lot of running, but had grown weary of running alone. When I saw that there was an AO in Ayden, I decided to give it a shot. I couldn’t have picked a better first post. Cousin IT (Q), String Bean, Bono, and Die Hard were all there. I struggled to keep up that day but they pulled me along (I had to look good for the video Bono was making with his selfie stick). I was sore for a few days after, but I could immediately tell F3 was special. I’m now posting 5x per week and registered for the F3 Super Bowl and the Blue Ridge Relay.
What F3 means to me: For me, F3 means encouragement. When I started, I was a runner, but barely. Five months later, I’m in the best shape of my life - down 30 pounds and able to run farther and faster than ever. I’ve also got a group of men that I can count on to be there when I’m in need. Just being a part of the PAX each morning is uplifting (even during a brutal beatdown) and inspires me to go further…at the AO, at home, at church, and at work.

From the Faith Q:
  • Monday morning Pray First at 5:10 a.m., Boyd Lee Park
  • Continue to use @f3encprayers for prayer requests.
From the Desk of the Weasel Shaker:
Have you signed up for a #CSAUP this year?
If not… Why not?
What could be better than committing to something #CSAUP (Completely Stupid And Utterly Pointless), then setting goals to crush it?
Don’t just “decide to try that one day.”
Take action. Then DO IT.
You will not regret it.

From the IT Q:
ALL Backblasts ever written have now been imported into the website (some editing will be finished up soon). Easily track posts, Qs, AOs and sort by month or AO when viewing Backblasts. If it wasn't written, it didn't happen!
