WHAT'S HAPPENING AT EvFREE – JULY 5, 2018

A LETTER FROM OUR PASTORAL STAFF

Dear EvFree Family,

We’ve heard the old saying "Good news travels fast but bad news travels even faster." We experience the fact that tragic deaths draw more mourners to a memorial. Bad news can drive perception, conversation and decisions. These days books on the demise of the Church seem to sell like hot cakes and seminars on how to save the Church are a dime a dozen.

But in reality the Church is not and will never be in jeopardy. Yes, the local expression of churches can ebb and flow. The church has been crushed in some regions historically like North Africa where Islamic religious and political forces eliminated all believers for a season. Churches are currently under severe attack in nations like Nigeria and India. But the Church is the Bride and Body of Christ on earth and He will not let it falter.

Jesus promised that He would build His Church and even the gates of hell will not overcome her. (Mt 16:18) With that confidence, I don’t feel I ever have to apologize for the Church but to do all I can to make her the best Bride she can be and the best representation of the Body of Christ.

How do we do that at EvFree Fullerton?
•    We attend church faithfully to corporately worship the Living God.
•    We give of our time and talents to serve each other.
•    We joyfully sacrifice financially as an act of faith.
•    We spend time meeting felt needs in our community.
•    We maintain our facilities so that they are safe and attractive.
•    We faithfully proclaim the gospel from our platform.
•    We send our friends and family to help others around the world.
•    We eliminate barriers so all feel welcome to attend.
•    We create programs for four generations of families.
•    We love on those with special needs and provide for their families.
•    We open our facilities for community needs.

When I think of church, I smile, knowing that I am surrounded by an eternal, loving community that is making an impact on our world.

Royal Family Kid's Camp

In 2001, EvFree Fullerton embarked on an entirely new adventure – a quest to love and embrace a population that is often unseen, forgotten and abused – Royal Family Kid’s Camp.

At the close of 2016, there were over 437,000 children registered in the foster care system. Over 3,000 of these children live in Orange County alone. Over the last 18 years, our church has decided we will not stand still – but we will join together and we will choose to "love the fatherless" through the relationships and fun found in a week of camp.

Will you join us in being the loving family of God to our campers? Come visit us on the Plaza for the next 3 Sundays before camp begins and pick up a birthday bag or a prayer bracelet. Let’s circle our campers with the love of the Father.

PHOTO OF THE WEEK

Pray for the L'viv high school team as they end their last full day of camp. Pray for fruit from this camp, that this camp would be good soil for that seed to be planted and for the things God has stirred in the campers to keep growing. Pray that the team will finish camp strong and that they won't be tired or weary. They return home July 10.
