WINTER SOLSTICE FESTIVAL THANK YOU!
What a great festival! There was so much to see and do for the whole family. From school choirs, kids earth arts, teen looping, lantern making, informative earth care, people care, and fair share workshops, great food, awesome performances, ethical gifts and a cracking bonfire! Thanks to all the volunteers, workers, stall holders, performers, and raffle sponsors. Special shout out to our dish-washers who helped make our event zero waste, First Nations mob for bush tucker campfire story telling and the Brisbane City Council for sponsoring such a great event. We look forward to seeing you all again at the Farm soon.
 EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT for our BRISBANE PERMACULTURE DESIGN COURSE CLOSES 11th of July
The Permaculture Design Course starts on the 11th of August. Run every Saturday for 16 weeks, you will learn everything you need to create a permaculture design for a residential, rural or community space. A wonderful course that gives you the knowledge to live sustainably.

EARTH KIDS
The next Earth Kids school holiday program in July will include a Thursday evening family experience with Earth connection activities and fire-side soup, stories and music. It’ll be a chance for the whole family to have a taste of Earth Kids! Bookings close 9am Friday the 7th of July.
The remaining Earth Kids dates for the year are:
Winter School Holiday Program (3 day program): July 10th to 12th
Spring School Holiday Program (5 day program): September 24th to 28th
Summer School Holiday Program (3 day program): December 18th to 20th
Homeschoolers Program (6 weekly sessions): Friday mornings, 12th October to 16th November

A Professional Development Workshop for Educators is coming up for those interested in Building Ecological Literacy. Saturday, 1 September 2018 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Book HERE.
 NAIDOC WEEK EVENTS
NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life. This year's theme is "Because of Her We Can". As part of NAIDOC celebrations, on Thursday the 12th of July, the Farm will be screening "STINGRAY SISTERS" a documentary about sisters Alice, Noni and Grace and what happens when when a mining company comes sniffing for oil and gas on their traditional lands. Tickets for this event can be booked HERE. Tea, Chai and Popcorn will be served on the night!

This month we look forward to seeing you at our regular Sunday Organic Farmers' Market. The theme this month is SPARK JOY JULY, so we hope to profile some stall holders and punters to ask them what sparks joy for them. Given this month is Plastic Free July and coincides with the State Government banning single use shopping bags, you will be able to find joy at our markets this Sunday by purchasing reusable tote bags and onya bags for your produce!
QUEENSLAND GARDEN EXPO
We will be representing at the Queensland Garden Expo in Nambour from Friday the 13th of July to Sunday the 15th of July. For more details click HERE.
There's a great selection of rare fruit trees in our City Farm Nursery at the moment including Lychee, Jaboticaba, Wampii, Jackfruit, Soursop and much more. It’s also a great time to plant your citrus trees for winter immunity for years to come!
