Hello Indivisible Resistance!

After public outcry against Trump's cruel policy of separating immigrant children from their parents, Trump has signed an executive order ending the practice. The fight isn't over yet, though. His executive order now directs the Department of Homeland Security to keep families together when they are detained- but his "zero tolerance" policy remains in effect, meaning that immigrant families with children are now being detained for indefinite periods of time. The rule against lengthy imprisonment of children was used as an excuse to separate children from their parents- now the Trump administration is trying to ignore it so that families can be imprisoned in camps. Since Trump's executive order to detain families with children for long periods of time is illegal, Republicans are now trying to get rid of the protections children have against lengthy imprisonment.

Call your representatives today to tell them not to help Republicans imprison families. And join us for a march against the cruel "zero tolerance" policy and indefinite detention, this Saturday, June 30th in Sacramento!

Top priority actions this week:

Tell our Members of Congress: Families Belong Together & Free!

Caller: Hi! My name is [name] and I’m calling from [zip code]. I’m calling today to thank [Senator Harris/Feinstein/Rep. Garamendi] for speaking out against Trump’s cruel zero tolerance policy and the resulting separation of children from their parents at the border. I do also ask that  [Senator Harris/Feinstein/Rep. Garamendi] oppose any efforts to create family detention facilities.

This crisis was created by the Trump administration’s zero tolerance policy and Trump can fix this with a phone call. Congress should not make this problem worse by voting to create family detention. I urge [Senator Harris/Feinstein/Rep. Garamendi] to oppose any legislation that would create family detention. Families belong together and free.
