HOPE Coventry could be your Charity of the Year - please vote for us!

Lower Precinct shopping centre has shortlisted HOPE Coventry for its Charity of the Year - but we need public votes in order to win this! We could never do it on our own
"Things that we could never do on our own as churches, but together, we can make a transformative difference in our city...that's what HOPE really enables." One of our trustees, who is a city church leader, summarised what HOPE Coventry means to her in this way in our new 3 minute video, below. Why not have a watch to see what Bishop Christopher and others say about us?

"There's been a really wonderful coming together of the churches in Coventry, very much in the spirit of hope." Bishop Christopher

Turn fear and division into something positive - Welcome the Strangers
President Trump visits the UK on Friday 13th July. You may have strong opinions on whether this visit is a good thing. Certainly many people are alarmed when they see increasing amounts of fear and division being stirred up around the world. But rather than repaying hate with hate, why not use that energy to find a very positive and creative response?
Welcome the Strangers invite people to choose 13th July to sit down with people they would not normally spend time with – possibly someone with a quite different outlook on life. How about your elderly neighbours, or the older man at the bus stop? Or the new asylum-seekers whose culture seems so unfamiliar? Or the Christian couple who you think might judge the way you speak? Or the homeless man you pass on the way to work? For ideas on how to get started simply chatting to someone different to you, see the welcomethestrangers.org.
