CPR Certification this summer
Do you need CPR certification for a job, volunteer position, or just to be able to help in an emergency situation? Get it this summer! The Student Emergency Medical Services (SEMS) club is offering a CPR certification class in July, and all are welcome. You will obtain CPR, AED, and First Aid certification for adults, pediatrics, and infants.

Ride to Fight Cancer
The Ride is a Wisconsin biking event that benefits cancer research and celebrates life! This event began in 2016 and has raised half a million dollars in the last two years. You can register up until the day of The Ride, but register before August 27 to guarantee your finisher shirt and medal.

Resource Navigator Position at MEDiC Clinic 
MEDiC clinics provide free healthcare to people in Madison communities. There are seven of them, and they are operated by UW SMPH medical students, volunteer physicians, and other healthcare professionals. The Community Resource Navigator Program is looking for UW undergraduate students to work with the Saturday morning MEDiC clinic beginning in August.

Social Media and Marketing Coordinator for the Department of Psychology 
The Department of Psychology is looking for a student hourly employee for the 2018-2019 academic year to perform a wide variety of social media tasks, marketing, and event responsibilities. They will ask this person to work 8-10 hours each week.

IRB Analyst at The George Washington University
Looking for an excellent way to spend a gap year? Would you like to work in a higher ed research setting? Want to live and work in Washington, DC? A former Badger shared this exciting job opportunity for another Badger to experience. Be an IRB Analyst at The George Washington University. Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Experience conducting interviews or helping draft protocols would be helpful. And research experience is a plus. Apply with or without these experiences as long as you have a Bachelor's degree.

Medical Scribe positions at Aurora Health Care
Aurora Health Care is a not-for-profit health care system headquartered in Milwaukee and serving eastern Wisconsin. They are looking for scribes to serve this summer at three of their sites:  St. Luke's Medical, St. Luke's South Shore, and West Allis. The Grow Program
The Nutrition Sessions branch of the Community Health Volunteers of Madison (CHVM) is looking for volunteers this summer (June-August)! In collaboration with The Farley Center, the Catholic Multicultural Center, and other community partners, CHVM is piloting a new nutrition initiative, The Grow Program, at the William T Evjue Clinic and Wingra Family Medical Center. Volunteers will (1) bring Garden Baskets of fresh produce to patients & families and (2) help develop healthy cooking classes. The Grow Program is designed to address access to health foods and nutrition education in an effort to combat chronic illnesses, such as obesity, hypertension, and diabetes.

Master of Science in Medical Physiology at Loyola University

The Master of Science in Medical Physiology at Loyola University Chicago is a 1-year, non-thesis medical physiology graduate program taught by medical school faculty at the Stritch School of Medicine. This program is designed for highly motivated students to enhance their understanding of human physiology and to improve their academic credentials.

StEP-UP at the Medical College of Wisconsin
StEP-UP (the Student Enrichment Program for Underrepresented Professions) is a competitive academic year program at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) designed to provide hands-on opportunities to undergraduate students from backgrounds that are historically underrepresented in medicine and biomedical science who are attending college in Wisconsin.

CNA Training
If you are interested in becoming a CNA, please find information about CNA courses offered here in Madison at: EMT Training
There are four levels of Emergency Medical Service Providers: Medical First Responder, EMT-Basic, EMT-Intermediate/Intermediate Technician, and EMT-Paramedic. It takes two years of training to become an EMT-Paramedic. First Responder and EMT-Basic Training can be completed in three months. Some training centers offer 3-week accelerated programs. Additionally, if you are a certified EMT, you can volunteer as an EMT within Madison city limits and work for pay as an EMT in surrounding communities or with private ambulance companies.

Wellness
Community Care at UW Health
If you need financial assistance on bills for any services received at UW Health and UW Hospitals and Clinics, you can apply for Community Care assistance. Please find the documents you will need to apply for this assistance here

McBurney Connect
The McBurney Disability Resource Center has a new electronic accommodation and case management system, McBurney Connect. Through McBurney Connect you will be able to generate a Faculty Notification Letter for each class in which you are seeking accommodations. These notification letters will replace the student VISAs (Verified Individualized Services and Accommodations plans). Please seek assistance from your Accommodation Specialist in the McBurney Center with any questions you have about this new system. The Open Seat
The Open Seat is a food pantry for UW students run by UW students. If you have a valid Wiscard, you are welcome at The Open Seat -- to serve and to get a meal. There are no financial or background checks of any kind, and the Open Seat is open all summer (Wednesdays 5-7 pm, Fridays 11am-1pm, and by appointment). UWell
UWell is a campus-wide effort committed to benefiting and promoting wellness at UW-Madison -- wellness in seven dimensions: physical, spiritual, career/academic, emotional, social/cultural, financial, and environmental. UWell and University Health Services have launched a new website, built to be a central location for wellness information on campus. Please use it as a resource!

Badger SPILL
You also have Badger SPILL (Supporting Peers in Laid-back Listening) as a wellness resource -- and a serving opportunity!  Get and/or give student-to-student anonymous and confidential support at badgerspill.com. Students can "spill" privately about anything and get empathy, feedback, and resources from other students in a safe, confidential, and anonymous setting.
