The Green Man opens at 7:09 p.m. Reach back half a century to 1968, that great and terrible year. Recall the culture, vibe, and events of those epic days, with a focus on Hemisfair ‘68. We’ll hear, in chronological order, all the hits you remember or forgot. With so much music, this blowout fills two weekends. Celebrating goes longer than usual—ending sometime after 11 both last Fri and this. Please bring anything groovy, man.
Historical note: 60s marathons began in 1979. Host Zow worked for nearly 20 years as a disc jockey at KUT-FM. These days, instead of assembling subject-centered music programs on the air, he sequences songs and tunes weekly for Green Man guests. Play name it and win it every Frigga’s Day!
