Partnership is the word that best sums up how we operate at OVCP. Partnerships that focus on respectfully and wholistically working together in an unhurried and empowering manner are what we strive for.

The key to our success as an organization rests on the Ugandans that are leading the way forward. As Paul shares in the video above, "Since we are from the community, we truly know and understand the struggles of the families we partner with".

Several years ago, we learned from our leaders on the ground that the term 'sponsorship' often takes on the connotation of a free handout in their community. They have seen families relinquish their role as caregiver and provider for their children. Sadly, this is often replaced with dependency upon the organization. 

That is why we believe that partnership is so important. We want to bring together families in need around our community in Iganga. We must all be stakeholders in development, and the families we partner with must have ownership in working for and bringing about change in their community. We want to see the families we partner with empowered to fight for their children and communities. Watch in the video above to see more on what this looks like.
