The Canada Day long weekend is upon us and we will be taking a little extra time off, closing July 1st and July 2nd to enjoy time with our families and friends, take in the local festivities and stay cool from the extreme heat. We hope you have a wonderful weekend, however you choose to celebrate!
The upcoming forecast is calling for lots of heat and humidity. It is important to remember that new plantings will need extra watering during these extreme temperatures. Container plants and hanging baskets will dry out quickly so give them a thorough soaking at least once at day. Applying mulch to your gardens will not only help to keep the weeds in check but will also help to hold moisture in the ground. A 3-4" layer of mulch is best as it keeps the soil cool and moist and deprives the weeds of light.
Our annual summer sale is underway in the garden centre. All remaining vegetables, herbs, 6 pack and 4" annuals are now 50% off! Hanging baskets and annual containers are 25% off! Make sure you take advantage of the savings and top up any spaces that need a bit more colour!
The garden centre is looking absolutely gorgeous with so many perennials in bloom. Stop by and see the many options still available in perennials, shrubs and trees.
