CLASSES ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

16 New Classes This Fall!
We always get suggestions on classes from students and this fall many of your requests are becoming a reality! Our glass blowing area is exploding with eight new classes and we are very excited to now offer a leather working class. Also after an overwhelming plea from a well known epicurious website our foundry department has developed a custom waffle iron class. We can’t wait for the tasty last day of that class!

Have you ever wanted to make your own Waffle Iron? If so this class is for you! From design to casting, we will take you through the steps to create a stovetop waffle iron of your own design.

The Crucible relocated to West Oakland in 2003, and became a pillar in the arts community, offering accessible classes, facilities, and events that showcased exciting and innovative industrial arts. Now, eight years later, West Oakland is the center of industrial arts, and our neighbors include: American Steel, which houses dozen of artists. A new and exciting arts community is springing out of American Steel: The Flux Foundation.

The mission of the Flux Foundation is to engage people in designing and building large-scale public art as a catalyst for education, collaboration and empowerment. The tag line of The Flux Foundation is building art through community, building community through art. Please do check them out at www.fluxfoundation.org.
