We All Live Under the Same Sky
What makes the Parliament such an unforgettable experience?

Is it the wisdom imparted by great thinkers? Memorable performances? Thought-provoking symposia and workshops? It is all of these things, and something more: the convergence of peoples, cultures and faith traditions, in one place, together.

Why am I making this journey?

Amber Leberman, Lutheran
"  While waiting for the Sacred Music Concert to begin at the 2004 Parliament, I met a Sikh couple. I asked my new friends where they were from. Sharan and Sukhdeep’s home was less than a mile from my own: I traveled halfway around the world to meet my neighbors.”

"   … to overcome mistrust and misunderstanding, and to meet others more than halfway on the path to harmony among the religions.”
Harbans Lal, Zoroastrian

Rosalia Lozano, Catholic
"  … to fight for the less privileged, to work for all the values that unite us and put aside the things that divide us; to open our eyes, our hearts, our minds; to love and serve. That is why.”

"   … I am attending to be inspired, to gain perspective, to feel connected to the global interfaith movement — and because I am a seeker and filled with curiosity…”
Pamela Ayo Yetunde, Buddhist

Gabriela Franco, Roman Catholic
"   … it expresses what is in my heart: ‘we all live under the same sky.’ After the Universal Forum of Cultures, in Monterrey, we in Guadalajara are building a community based on respect, brotherhood, grace and joy.”
